Finally we have a big competition for all the Gunpla modelers here in Europe. For years we have been waiting for Bandai to do an official BAKUC -or whatever it’s called now- and with no succes. One of the members of MAC, – now moderator- Kamm has gone trhough the trouble to set up a competition catered solely to the European Gunpla modelers. He managed to convince HLJ to sponsor the contest with some sweet prizes!

It’s been awhile again since I posted something, so here it goes

I started working on a little dio for my old IJ. The reason is that i wanted to practice some more on my diorama skills and weathering skills.

So it seems as i’ve forgotten that i even have a blog………
The main reason for this is the fact that school has really been asking alot of my time lately. After studying for tests nad writing reports there’s hardly any time left for gunpla. I did get some progress on my 00 Gundam but was to lazy to blog about it xD

I’ve also been thinking about more videos to put on my YouTube channel, as it is quite bare at the moment.
Anyways, here’s a little update on the 00 for you guys.

Some dio progress

So, i wake up and see that the tissues are still soft and wet and figured that it wouldn’t work. Went to find some wallpaper glue. I then dipped some newspapers into the glue and layered it on the dio.

I also made some glue-sand mixture and added it to the dio to make some ground.

Diorama time

So i finally have some time to do some modeling this weekend, originally, i was planning to work some more on my 00 but i changed my mind and decided to make a dio for my recently finished Gelgoog. I’d planned to do this someday anyway.

SO, i took a tile that i found in the basement, added some trash to get a mountain structure and covered it with paper-mache to try and give it some nice rough texture….

How to make welding lines

First I want to say that this isn’t the only or best way to do this; I’m simply showing the way I did it.

1.What you’ll need

Epoxy putty ( it doesn’t have to be milliput, just make sure it’s the kind that’s a bit like clay since that’s much easier to handle)
Hobby knife (or any other flat thin object that you can use to shape the milliput)

2.Mixing and shaping your putty

Take a little bit of each stick and mix them together like the way the instructions tell you to.
When your epoxy is all mixed and ready to use, roll it on a flat and preferably clean surface until it looks like a sausage.

3.Preparing your parts

When you’re applying the weld line on a place where there is normally a panel line, it won’t be a problem, but if you’re trying to get it on a surface that is normally flat, I’d suggest carving a panel line first.

4.Applying the weld line

Take your epoxy sausage, cut off the appropriate length and put it where you want it. If you’re not working on a big scale kit, your sausage will probably be a bit too thick. Use your finger or a satay stick (or a toothpick) to push the epoxy putty in place so that it sticks to the surface.

Then take your knife and gently cut off the excess putty until you feel the size is good. Now take your hobby knife and use the blunt side to push in the indents so that it looks like it’s welded on.

Let the epoxy cure and voila, you have a nice looking weld line.
